Born in Shanghai, China in 1942, Ronger Shen graduated from the Find Art Department of Nanjing Institute of Arts in 1965, majoring in Chinese fine Art. In the early 1960s she started studying Traditional Chinese Qigong. She emigrated to the U.S. in late 1984 and founded the American Qigong Center Inc. Master Shen is the chairman of American Qigong Association and the Secretary General of the East Association of Modern Chinese Art. Since the late 1980s Master Shen has focused her attention on exploring universal life energies, creating Life Information Paintings, Life Information Rhythms, and Life Information Qigong.

Since 1991, Master Shen has been involved in a research project at the Pain Management Center of the Rmocraphy New Jersy Medical School. Her Life Information Paintings and Life Information Rhythms are used in treating Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), a degenerative nerve disease resulting in intractable pain, and considered incurable by Western medicine. This project is the study on the healing effects of Qigong, funded by the Office of Alternative Medicine of the National Institute of Health (NIH). While the study is ongoing, Master Shen has had excellent results in treating RSD patients with her Life Information series.
