Born in Shanghai, China in
1942, Ronger Shen graduated from the Find Art Department of Nanjing Institute of Arts in
1965, majoring in Chinese fine Art. In the early 1960s she started studying Traditional
Chinese Qigong. She emigrated to the U.S. in late 1984 and founded the American Qigong
Center Inc. Master Shen is the chairman of American Qigong Association and the Secretary
General of the East Association of Modern Chinese Art. Since the late 1980s Master Shen
has focused her attention on exploring universal life energies, creating Life Information
Paintings, Life Information Rhythms, and Life Information Qigong. Since 1991, Master Shen has been involved in a research
project at the Pain Management Center of the Rmocraphy New Jersy Medical School. Her Life
Information Paintings and Life Information Rhythms are used in treating Reflex Sympathetic
Dystrophy (RSD), a degenerative nerve disease resulting in intractable pain, and
considered incurable by Western medicine. This project is the study on the healing effects
of Qigong, funded by the Office of Alternative Medicine of the National Institute of
Health (NIH). While the study is ongoing, Master Shen has had excellent results in
treating RSD patients with her Life Information series. |
